Stars of the 70s – A magic night

Marvin was a special guest at a Willow function to commemorate the historic victory by Arsenal to clinch their first European trophy – the Inter Cities Fairs Cup in 1970.
It included many of the original team who were Marvin’s school boy heroes – several who have since become firm friends. These include Bob Wilson, John Radford, Frank McLintock,Eddie Kelly and George Graham.
The night was hosted by Willow founders Bob and Megs Wilson. Broadcaster Hardeep Singh was the nights MC and Bobby Davro did a great job at the auction which raised over £41,000.

Marvin at Monday Night Magic in New York

Last week during a whirlwind visit to New York , Marvin joined up with some of his magic friends for Monday Night Magic at the Bleaker St Theatre in Greenwhich Village.
The packed house included rock legend Mick Jagger.
Marvin expressed thanks to his host Michael Chaut who is the show’s producer.

Marvin performs to VIPs at Hamleys 250th year celebration

World famous toy store Hamleys of Regent Street celebrated their 250th year anniversary this month.
Marvin’s Magic have run the magic department in the store since 1987….and today they seem synonymous with each other.
There was a star studded party to celebrate attended by 700 lucky prize winners and a galaxy of stars and celebrities from stage and screen and sport.
Marvin himself was there to entertain at the VIP event along with a host of some of his best demonstrators from over the years. Marvin personally performed in the VIP area to numerous celebrities including new England captain Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Gary Barlowe, Ulrike Johnson, Sophie Ellis Baxter, Gail Porter, Laurence Llewellyn Bowen and X Factor’s Stacey Sloomons.
Says Marvin ” We have always enjoyed a close association with Hamleys who gave us our first break 30 years ago. I am delighted that our magic is still consistently amongst their best selling products and we were delighted to receive the inaugural Hamleys Supplier of the Year. It was an honour to be part of their celebrations and help add an extra sprinkling to what was a really magical night!. “
Hamleys has now become an international brand with regional stores at the Airports, Glasgow, Dundrum, Copenhagen, Jordan, Dubai and new stores opening soon in India.

Marvin commented ” We were delighted by the response and will be incorporating several of the best ones into some changes and developments this year. Look out for a few surprises. It is good to know that much of what had been requested was already in our plans. As regards to new products all will be revealed in the coming months!!

George Sampson loves Magic!

Marvin Berglas from Marvin’s Magic wows dance sensation , George Sampson winner of Britain’s Got Talent. George put on a truly magical performance at the Sunshine at Christmas bash in London this weekend.

Backstage he was wowed with a private demonstration of magic and sleight of hand by Marvin Berglas -

the creator of Marvin’s Magic.

George, 15, admits to being a big fan of Marvin’s Magic following his first meeting with Marvin last summer at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

Multi talented George is widening his performance skills and was again inspired by Marvin and

hopes to replicate the mind blowing skill in his feet with mind blowing sleight of hand!

Magical…Sunshine at Christmas!

Marvin Berglas entertained the stars backstage at the Sunshine at Christmas concert at the Troxy in London.

The spectacular charity event was superbly organised by Jane Sharpe from Rays of Sunshine

(www.raysofsunshine.org.uk) and attended by over 1000 seriously ill children and supporters.

Chart Toppers JLS , The Saturdays, Taio Cruz and dance sensation George Sampson headed the bill.

Marvin’s Magic was a big hit back stage with the artistes especially George Sampson , Taio Cruz and Amy Winehouse’s goddaughter Dionne Bromfield.

Marvin and the Barbarians

The world famous Barbarians were in town this week to play a sell out match versus the All Blacks at Twickenham the home of Rugby .

A couple of days prior to their game, the whole squad relaxed at top London restaurant, San Lorenzo in Knightsbridge where they were treated to a private performance from magic man Marvin Berglas.

It was the second successive year Marvin was chosen as the surprise entertainment and his magic was enjoyed by

all! It must have had the desired effect as the Barbarians won 25-18 sealing a famous victory!

Particularly Springbok winger Brian Habana who went on to score a scintillating hat trick of tries….the first Barbarian to score three times in a match against the All Blacks.

These past few days , Rakesh has just returned from Hamleys,Dundrum in Dublin, Quentin is in New York at Toys R US and FAO Schwarz in New York, James is in Hamleys Regent Street, Stephen in Harrods , Alfonso and Bruce are spending time in Hamleys Dubai and David introduces Laurence to our latest outlet within the Hamleys new store in Glasgow opening on wednesday.

Marvin back on TV in US this week

Marvin flies into the US this week for two appearances on QVC US to promote Marvin’s Magic products.
Marvin was a regular on air a few years back breaking several records on the way! The programmes reach 63 million homes throughout the US.
Says Marvin ” I am looking forward to retuning to Studio Park and will be demonstrating an old favourite as well as introducing something new. My shows are scheduled for Tues 24th Nov and Nov 27th which is Black Friday – the busiest shopping date of the year. I hope that is a good omen!”.
